Season 1
Harley Quinn The Best TV Shows of 2019

Critics Consensus

A strong voice cast and an even stronger grasp of what makes its titular antiheroine so beloved make Harley Quinn a violently delightful -- and surprisingly insightful -- addition to the DC animated universe.

Critic Reviews for Harley Quinn Season 1

All Critics (26) | Top Critics (4)

The series plays like a carnival ride -- something that's fun and exciting the first time, and tiring and a little nausea-inducing by the time you reach the 13th, which happens to be how many episodes were made for the first season.

The cast at large is key to Harley Quinn's success. Harley screeches so much I actually became worried for Cuoco's vocal cords, but the shrieking nonetheless remains essential to Harley's personal development.

Dec 2, 2019 | Full Review…

There's an edgelord quality to every episode that becomes tiring after a while, but, to the show's credit, Harley Quinn at least approaches its extreme content with a wry smile, if not a knowing wink.

Dec 3, 2019 | Full Review…

I just don't think this show has the power right now to keep audiences coming back week after week for more. For now, the series is a good background show for when you want a laugh while doing other things.

Dec 2, 2019 | Full Review…

Ultimately, Harley Quinn might be an economical watch, but it feels expansive, partially because the supporting cast pops with every shade of personality.

Dec 2, 2019 | Full Review…

It uses profoundly silly plots to address serious real-world issues and tells surprisingly sweet stories that are utterly soaked in cartoon gore.

Dec 2, 2019 | Full Review…

It's close to being excessive, but it never quite crosses that line.

Dec 3, 2019 | Full Review…

Harley Quinn is just a treat. It feels like visiting Gotham from her singularly-psycho perspective, with all the colorful action and doofy humor that entails.

Dec 2, 2019 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review…

The series does a great job in proving something that all us Harley fans have known since her inception: Harley Quinn is much more than her relationship with Joker.

Dec 8, 2019 | Full Review…

For DC fans to animation lovers, this is the perfect show for you. Prepare for utter insanity from start to finish, and expect to be shocked and offended at every turn.

Dec 1, 2019 | Full Review…

Harley Quinn has the right combination of satire, character-driven humor and satisfying story elements to make it one of the funniest shows we've seen in 2019.

Dec 1, 2019 | Full Review…

Despite its tonal issues, Harley Quinn succeeds thanks to a top-notch voice cast and a well-rounded take on Harley.

Absolutely phenomenal, the dialogue feels realistic and the story itself leaves me wanting more of it each week.

At first I thought that they were going to stick to the original character design and humor. But then they transformed her look based off the new look which is pointless and stupid! Some of the voices in the cartoon don't fit well with the characters from the original Batman The animated series even tho they're clearly based off of them. And frankly I find the show stale, boring, and overly predictable. Stick to the original and stop trying to reboot character designs! They're half assed at best! Everyone else looks the way that they're supposed to why do they have to screw with only Harley? This show should have been a lot better than what it is and frankly I'm sure it won't last a pass season! I say scrap it now and delete it from our lives!

[RT] "What Did You Think of This TV Season?" [Jay] Well, I think it was "G%$DAMN FU%#ING!" Atrocious..... Two decades ago & since, we've enjoyed relative taste & restraint with our North American / DC based Animation as a whole. Now that (it's glaringly apparent) 'Hollywood' is going Full-Steam Ahead with it's distilled Hyper-Violent, Language & Sex content, it seems like No Francise, Film or TV IP is safe from it's Reptilian-eyed gaze. (within 5 minutes of the 'HARLEY QUINN, I counted three dozen (unintelligent) Curses & a Dozen acts of Gory Brutality.....who's this stuff aimed at anyway? The Hollywood Elite's children?) Extreme Violence -&- Course Language used to be used relatively sparingly in TV-&-esp. Film, w/ mostly intelligent Nuance, but now (see Poison Ivy's Apartment scene 5 minutes in, Ep.01) it's just used to Start~&~End a normal Sentence or Interaction. And thus, frighteningly, it becomes more normalized & generally accepted as conventional (i.e. Part of our Culture) And ask yourself honestly, is this the kind of content you want to see your children's children watching on future Saturday mornings while they eat their chem-infused, processed sugar-laden breakfast cereal? What's next in our decades long Entertainment Odyssey , a Streaming Service right next to Netflix for Pederasts called 'FIVE+'? (Followed by 'The HOTDOG Network' & 'PizzaFlix')
